COLLEGE STATION — It was a weekend that Texas A&M baseball would like to forget, as the Missouri Tigers completed the series sweep 10-1 on Sunday.
The Tigers came into the weekend searching for their first conference win and found three, stunning the postseason-hopeful Aggies in the process.
The Aggies’ offense struggled mightily, scoring eight runs on the series, unable to find footing in an important weekend.
A&M saw its RPI drop from 35 to 52 before Sunday’s game, and with the series finale loss, it can expect an even steeper slide heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
A&M starter Myles Patton had difficulties with the Missouri lineup and left the outing on the hook for the loss.
He was pulled after going 4⅓ innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, throwing 73 pitches.
The Tigers’ starting pitcher, Will Libbert, fared much better, allowing one run and one hit on 76 pitches.
Libbert finished the day with five strikeouts and three walks.
