C.J. Stroud is giving back to the city of Houston ahead of training camp.
The Houston Texans’ Pro Bowl quarterback recently gave away 250 backpacks, free haircuts and physicals to students getting ready to return to school as part of the second annual “Back to School Backpack Blitz.” Stroud, who enters his fourth season with the Texans, was part of the group that attended the event at the South Side YMCA Sunday afternoon.
The event his co-sponsored by several organizations in the Greater-Houston area, including the YMCA, CJ Stroud Foundation, Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Trill Burgers, Active Athlete 88 and more.
As part of the C.J. Stroud Foundation, kids with experience in the foster-care system or had parents in the prison system were invited to the event. Every kid who wanted a fresh haircut was granted the opportunity thanks to barbers on site. The kids were also greeted with free Trill Burgers, courtesty of Houston rapper Bun B.
