One of the surest signs of spring are events, such as GardenFest, being held this weekend by Amarillo Botanical Gardens, 1400 Streit Drive.
The yearly event will feature a plant sale, vendor booths and free gardening education classes for kids and adults on Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out.
There will be an exciting lineup of local vendors, quality geraniums, herbs and many other plants for down to earth prices.
Geraniums will be sold on a first-come, first-sold basis, so it’s a good idea to get there early, according to Greg Lusk, executive director of Amarillo Botanical Gardens.
General admission is $5 at the gate. Members get in free with their membership card, and children, ages 5 and younger, are always admitted free at the Gardens.
Randall County Master Gardeners annual plant sale
The Randall County Master Gardeners will hold a plant sale at AmTech Career Academy, 3601 Plains Blvd., also on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer advice for planting and growing, along with the best plants to grow in our area including perennials and succulents.
There will be hundreds of indoor and outdoor plants for sale, including hanging baskets and succulents, as well as tomato cages, flower boxes and bee and butterfly houses.
No sales taxes will be applied to these plants, and there will be multiple amazing raffle prizes. Credit cards are accepted.
Gardeners advise bringing a cart or wagon to carry your plants and prizes.
