West Plains baseball player Elijah Vasquez was voted the Happy State Bank Boys High School Athlete of the Week for April 6-11.
Vasquez had six RBIs on the week including a home run and four knocked in against Perryton.

He received 11,123 of the 23,114 votes cast for Athlete of the Week, which was 48.1% of total votes.
Meanwhile, Randall softball player Tatum Gibson was voted the Happy State Bank Girls High School Athlete of the Week.
Gibson was 2 for 3 with a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to take down West Plains 1-0.
She received 3,259 of the 23,114 votes cast for Athlete of the Week, which was 14.1% of total votes.
Students in all varsity sports are eligible and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.
Nominations are due by 5 p.m. each Saturday and can be submitted through email at sports@amarillo.com.
Please include statistics from the week’s games and any pertinent information or honors. Voting runs through Thursday each week.
