SEC OL Rankings: Where do Trevor Goosby and Texas check in?

The SEC position rankings roll on with the trenches taking centerstage. In the SEC(and really every conference), the offensive line has become the toughest to build depth during the portal era. Most schools are relying on either first-time starters or transfers across their offensive front. Because of that, this is not the strongest position group in the conference but major NFL prospects still remain, particularly at OT.

Here’s how I see the SEC offensive line units stack up:

1. Georgia Bulldogs

This is surprising to no one, but Georgia is setting the pace for offensive lines in the SEC once again. Unlike seemingly every other OL on this list, Georgia has 7-8 OL they’d feel confident in sending out there on Saturday. That is a true luxury in today’s college football. Earnest Greene III is back for another season at LT, with Juan Gaston likely across from him at RT. Drew Bobo is back at center, flanked by Dontrell Glover and true freshman phenom Zykie Helton. This unit will be downright elite for Georgia.

2. Texas Longhorns

When I started this list, I didn’t expect Texas to slot in this high. However, as you go through the conference, it’s tough to find a starting five stronger than the one in Austin. Trevor Goosby leads the way as one of the top OL in the country. Melvin Siani joins as another top 10-15 OT in the country. Connor Robertson and Brandon Baker return after finishing last season strong and you add All-American Laurence Seymore as well. The depth is a question but it’s difficult to find a starting five that matches the Longhorns.

3. Tennessee Volunteers

For people seeing the talk out of Knoxville this spring, this might be surprising. However, a number of the starting group was sidelined. It’s a strong group led by David Sanders Jr. a RT, while LSU transfer Ory Williams seems to be the leader for the LT job. Wendell Moe Jr. and Sam Pendleton hold down the interior, along with RS sophomore Jesse Perry. This will be a run-heavy team and it seems they have the group up front to do it.

4. Missouri Tigers

Another unit that resembles the one in Knoxville is Missouri’s. They are also led by an elite talent at LT in Cayden Green. Green is expected to compete with Trevor Goosby for that top OT spot in the next NFL Draft. Along with him, Arizona State transfer Josh Atkins(if healthy) should be an upgrade at RT. Tristan Wilson, Dominick Giudice and Curtis Peagler round out an experienced group with strong run and pass blocking skills.

5. LSU Tigers

The only OL that upgraded near as much as Texas is LSU. It starts with Jordan Seaton, another elite OT prospect for the NFL Draft. Weston Davis, the starter from a year ago, returns to hold down the RT spot across from Seaton. Aliou Bah was the transfer addition on the interior from Maryland, to go along with Braelin Moore and Bo Boredelon. This unit still has questions to answer, but the additions of Seaton and Bah sets the LSU OL up for a bounceback in 2026.
