FSU baseball starting shortstop to enter transfer portal

Another member of FSU baseball’s infield is moving on. Shortstop Gabe Fraser has entered the transfer portal, according to D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers.

Fraser spent one season with the Seminoles after starting his career with the Arkansas Razorbacks. The sophomore hit .303 with one home run and 11 RBI in 119 at-bats. He started 35 games for the Seminoles and had a .432 on-base percentage and a .403 slugging percentage.

The Huntington Beach, California, native had five doubles and two triples, scoring 24 runs with 36 hits. He stole six bases, getting caught twice. He made 10 errors in the field, finishing with a .915 fielding percentage.

Fraser will have two seasons of eligibility at his next school, his third in three seasons. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder has plenty of talent, but still needs to put it together after showing flashes in the field and at the plate for the Seminoles.

He is the eighth Seminole to enter the transfer portal and the fourth infielder, joining Charlie Buckles, Kelvyn Paulino Jr., and Noah Sheffield. Outfielder Chase Williams, catcher Hunter Carns, and pitchers Jake Echols and Manny Lantigua are also in the portal.
