Rockets star Kevin Durant earns All-NBA honors for 12th time in career

On Sunday, the NBA announced that Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant was named to the league’s All-NBA Second Team for the 2025-26 season. It is the 12th time he has earned All-NBA honors, tying for the seventh-most in history.

Durant is the 10th different Rocket to have earned the All-NBA distinction, and he is the first since his former Oklahoma City teammates James Harden and Russell Westbrook did so in the 2019-20 season.

In 78 games played this season, Durant averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 36.4 minutes, all while shooting 52.0% from the floor, 41.3% from 3-point range, and 87.4% on free throws. He was one of five players (joining Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jaylen Brown, Luka Dončić, and Nikola Jokić) to have averaged at least 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

During each of his past four seasons and eight times in his career, Durant has averaged 25-plus points while shooting at least 50.0% from the floor and 40.0% from 3-point range. In NBA history, no other player has more than three seasons with those numbers.

At 37 years old last season, Durant became the oldest player in NBA history to have scored 2,000 points in a season. He ranked second to Amen Thompson in total minutes played and became the fourth different player 37 or older (LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Karl Malone twice) to have averaged at least 36.0 minutes played in a season.

Durant ranked 11th in scoring and has averaged at least 25.0 points per game in each of his past 17 seasons played, which is the second-most all-time (James with 20).

On defense, Durant had the fourth-best defensive field goal percentage (42.2%) among players who defended an average of 10 shot attempts per game.

The All-NBA first-, second-, and third-team selections were determined by a global media panel of 100 voters. Complete results are available here.

During the 2025-26 campaign, Durant moved from eighth to fifth place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, passing Wilt Chamberlain, Dirk Nowitzki, and Michael Jordan.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James, and Malone are the only other players in NBA history with at least 28,000 career points, 8,000 rebounds, and 5,000 assists.
