The Texas Tech softball team is heading back to the Women’s College World Series after outlasting Florida in a wild three-game Super Regional.
The Red Raiders took down the Gators 16-7 in a run-rule victory to punch their return ticket to Oklahoma City.
Texas Tech’s first opponent in OKC will be Mississippi State, which pulled off a pair of upsets in the first two rounds to get to the WCWS. The Bulldogs beat No. 3 seed Oklahoma 2-1 in their three-game series to set up the matchup.
Tennessee and either Arizona State or Texas will be the other teams on Texas Tech’s side of the bracket. Alabama, Arkansas, UCLA and Nebraska are on the other side of the bracket.
The tournament begins Thursday at Devon Park.
