Charges dropped against Kimberly Park in sister's death: Report

A judge dropped all charges against a sister in connection to the death last year of her pregnant sibling in Wexford County, Michigan.

Kimberly Park and her fiance, Richard Falor, were linked to the death of Park’s sister, Rebecca Park, who allegedly was killed by Rebecca’s biological mother and the mother’s husband. Rebecca Park was pregnant.

Kimberly Park was charged with tampering with evidence, lying to police and false report of a felony. The charges were dropped Friday in a preliminary examination in 84th District Court, according to UpNorthLive. The charges were dropped without prejudice, which means prosecutors could bring charges again. Both the prosecutor and defense requested that the case be dismissed, according to UpNorthLive.

Falor is charged with two counts of delivery of a methamphetamine.

The cases against Rebeccca Park’s biological mother, Cortney Bartholomew, and her step-father, Bradly Bartholomew, who are accused in her death, were put on hold for a competency evaluation, UpNorthLive reported.

Park was 38 weeks pregnant when she was reported missing from Wexford County on the state’s west side. She last was seen on Nov. 3, 2025, getting into a vehicle at the home of the Bartholomews.

Authorities found Park’s body Nov. 25 in Manistee National Forest, near the community of Boon, where the Bartholomews live, according to the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office. Her abdomen was cut open and the placenta and umbilical cord were hanging out, wrote Wexford County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Alexis Howard last year in a probable cause affidavit.

Courtney and Bradly Bartholomew were arraigned Dec. 2, 2025, on charges of first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy, assault of pregnant person causing miscarriage or stillbirth, unlawful imprisonment and removal of a dead body.

The mother and stepfather told police they cut the baby out of Park’s womb, then stuffed the baby’s body in a cooler that they later threw out, according to a court document.
