Rockets projected to land 18 PPG scorer in recent mock draft

As many fans know, the Rockets are one of few NBA teams without a first-round pick in the loaded 2026 NBA Draft class. Originally, the Rockets sent their 2026 first-rounder to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Russell Westbrook all the way back in 2019. However, Houston does have two second-round picks to make additions to their roster this summer.

In a recent mock draft conducted by Jeremy Woo of ESPN, the Rockets were projected to select Louisville guard Ryan Conwell with the No. 39 overall selection. Conwell played for four different schools in four seasons of collegiate basketball, averaging over 15 points per game in three of those years. In his senior campaign last season, Conwell averaged 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals. Throughout his collegiate career, Conwell proved himself as a capable shooter from distance, with a career average of 37.6%. While many teams shy away from selecting older prospects, at age 22, Conwell could be the most “NBA ready” prospect available for Houston with the No. 39 pick.
