As the Texas Democratic Party Convention was underway in its second day, four Republican Texas state legislators held a news conference down the street at the Holiday Inn, promoting the slogan “Keep Texas Red.”
Those who addressed media on June 26 were state Rep. Todd Hunter of Corpus Christi, Rep. J.M. Lozano of Kingsville, Rep. A.J. Louderback of Victoria and Rep. Katrina Pierson of Rockwall.
In the news conference, representatives took aim at Democratic policies on energy regulation, criminal justice and gender issues.
“Texas Democrats are hatching out their plan to show the entire state just how bizarre and out of touch their policies are with average Texans,” Pierson said. “Over the next few months, you’ll see that it’ll be a very clear choice in November. It will not be just Republicans versus Democrats — it will be sanity over insanity and it will be common sense over radical ideology.”
