An off-duty El Paso Police Department officer was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman after sex, according to a report from a news broadcast.
Manuel Flores, Jr., 48, was arrested May 15 for assault causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint after a sexual encounter with a female complainant, according to Channel 14-KFOX, which obtained the criminal complaint. Here’s an account of what allegedly happened.
The woman alleges that in November 2024, after a night of socializing and drinking, Flores held her down and hit her and choked her after they were intimate in a Downtown El Paso hotel, the report states.
The woman also described Flores acting strangely, saying he was acting aggressive and angry, and proceeded to speak to officers upon picking up his phone and recording the conversation when questioned. The woman added that she felt this could also mean that he recorded their intimate encounter.
Flores denies the allegations, telling police that the slaps were consensual and that he recorded only the conversation with police.
The criminal complaint stated that Flores cooperated with investigators, handing over his phone and stating that he “had nothing to hide and did not do anything wrong.” At the time of the incident, Flores was off duty.
Flores was arrested May 15, posted a $2,000 bond, and was released the same day, according to records.
