Downtown Wichita Falls restaurant allowed to reopen kitchen

The Wichita Falls City-County Health District on Tuesday gave the kitchen at The Loft restaurant clearance to reopen.

A follow-up inspection report said the Dad’s Bar portion of the business remained out of compliance as repairs continue. Another inspection will be conducted on that area on July 10.

Tuesday’s inspection score for the business was 99.

The restaurant atop Picker’s Universe at 1000 Indiana Avenue voluntarily closed following a  routine health inspection on June 9 that revealed 15 violations, the most serious of which was ceiling problems on the bar area that “was causing an imminent health and safety hazard,” according to the inspector.

The restaurant in the 97-year-old Filgo Building opened Aug. 31, 2024.
