Maxx Crosby may be on the move. Do the Dallas Cowboys have a shot?

Remember back in the bad old days when the Dallas Cowboys were going to fix everything with a blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders’ star edge rusher Maxx Crosby? The Raiders put the nix on that, and Dallas moved on, but now the season is over, and all indications are that Crosby wants out of Las Vegas.

Could Dallas swing one of their first-round picks for a player who, admittedly, would fix a lot? There is a huge list of teams that want Crosby, so what are Dallas’ chances?

Dak Prescott wants the Cowboys to focus on bringing George Pickens back, which is a widely held opinion in Cowboy country, while Terrell Owens has opinions on Tom Brady.

What are they? Let’s see.

Maxx Crosby Dallas Cowboys

Las Vegas star edge rusher Maxx Crosby was a name that frequently came up at midseason when Dallas was pondering trade options to shore up their defense, but the Raiders were emphatic that they were going to keep him and the Cowboys ended up making a move to get Quinnen Williams instead.

Then the Raiders shelved him for the final two games of the season, they said, for his health, but Crosby departed from the team, evidently upset about getting sidelined when Las Vegas was in a tank race for the No. 1 pick, and now evidently he wants out.

That’s per Fox Insider Jay Glazer, who spoke with Crosby, then told Yahoo Sports’ Jason Fitz: “And then Maxx is on the other line going ‘Man, screw these guys. They’re shutting me down. I am not about this. Hell, no. I’m not doing it. I left the facility. I’m out. I want to get traded. I’m done.’ I was kind of trying to talk (Crosby) off a ledge.”

When asked if he thought Crosby was done in Las Vegas, Glazer said, “I do.”

So, one year after they let a younger version of Crosby go (Micah Parsons), is Crosby coming to Dallas?

He might be available for that No. 20 pick overall Dallas has from Green Bay, he would very likely be available for the No. 12 pick, and while early speculation is that the Detroit Lions would be Crosby’s preferred destination, Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated said on the Cohn & Kruger podcast, “The (San Francisco) Niners aren’t necessarily his first choice. He’d like to go to Dallas. He’d like to go to Detroit.”

It’s worth noting that the Cowboys seem to be an outlier among the potential landing spots for Crosby, who has indicated he wants to contend for a Super Bowl immediately.

The USA Today listed five possible destinations for Crosby: New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks.A broader consensus is that the Lions or Patriots make the most sense, but this is fluid. Consider Crosby to the Cowboys is a possibility, but at the moment, it is a long shot.

George Pickens Dak Prescott

Everyone around the Cowboys has an opinion on free agent George Pickens’ future, and uniformly it is that is he is wanted back.

Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram caught up with quarterback Dak Prescott at the Pro Bowl and Dallas’ quarterback said this about Pickens’ free agency:

“I think it’s vital,” Prescott said about resigning Pickens. “I think it must be done. I think obviously from (owner Jerry Jones) to everybody down understands that. The impact on this offense and the team and the great player that he is, we’ve got to find a way to keep him here.”

As for Pickens, he wants to return. He told the team’s website: “I would love to. But when you can’t control it, you kind of just hope for the best. … Just the ultimate best deal when it helps everybody. If it’s the best thing for both parties, then I’m willing to do anything. But like I said, I can’t control it, so I just kind of chill.”

Rio de Janeiro

The Cowboys are set to make history by playing the first-ever game in Rio de Janeiro in the 2026 regular season. This will count as a Dallas home game (the Cowboys have nine of those next year) and will be their first overseas game since playing Jacksonville in London in 2014.

The opponent, date and obviously time have not been announced. It will be against one of the following teams: Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Jaguars, 49ers, Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens.

There will be a record nine international games in 2026: Paris, Munich, Madrid and London (three) Rio, Mexico City and Melbourne.

Dallas’ game in Rio will be the third NFL game played in Brazil. The other two were in Sao Paulo.

Tom Brady Terrell Owens

While the rest of the NFL works itself into outrage that former Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft were snubbed from the Hall of Fame (that became official Thursday night), former Cowboys star receiver Terrell Owens had a different take, which was a chance to take a swipe at Tom Brady.

Brady is eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2028, and if Belichick couldn’t get in on the first ballot, perhaps because of some cheating scandals, what about Brady?

“Honestly, if you’re looking at it, if Belichick doesn’t go in and Robert Kraft doesn’t go in first ballot, Brady shouldn’t go in,” Owens said on Super Bowl LX Radio Row, per Edward Lewis of the New York Post. “I’m just being real. It’s nothing against him.

“How can you have Brady go in when he’s up in 2028? Why would he go in if Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick don’t go in on the first go-around? Because, to be quite honest, yeah, is Brady a good quarterback? Yeah. He’s not the quarterback he is without Kraft drafting him. He’s not the quarterback he is without Belichick. They all go hand-in-hand. So to me, why would he go in and those two don’t? He shouldn’t go in either.”

When did Dallas Cowboys last win a Super Bowl

Dallas last won a Super Bowl following the 1995 season, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17 in Super Bowl XXX. The Cowboys have not made an NFC Championship game since that 1995 season, the longest streak of any NFC team.
