A Randall County grand jury has indicted a 40-year-old man on charges including capital murder in connection with a deadly shooting in March.
On May 6, the Amarillo Police Department’s Homicide Unit presented the case to the Randall County Grand Jury for review.
The case stems from the March 22 domestic violence shooting investigation, which occurred in the 2900 block of South Dallas. During the investigation, officers determined multiple individuals suffered injuries during the attack, and two people were fatally shot outside the residence.
Following presentation of evidence and testimony, the Randall County Grand Jury returned indictments against 40-year-old James Pena on the following charges:
Pena remains in custody at the Randall County Jail. APD said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
