Longhorns baseball trio invited to Team USA Training Camp

Following stellar 2026 campaigns, three Longhorns will get the chance to shine on the national stage. On Tuesday, Sam Cozart, Anthony Pack Jr., and Dylan Volantis were invited to participate in the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp. They will join 53 other premier non-draft-eligible college players who will get to play against the best in the world.

The inclusion of Cozart, Pack, and Volantis comes as no surprise. They have been among the Longhorns’ best players and etched their names into the record books. Now they will get to show the world just how good they are.

In his second season on the Forty Acres, Volantis has been stellar every time he takes the mound. The California native recorded a 2.05 ERA in 13 starts, which ranked  first in the SEC and sixth nationally. He also struck out 105 batters, which was the third-most in the SEC and tied for 17th in the nation. While it was his first season as a starter, Volantis made the transition look easy.

As Volantis thrived out of the rotation, Texas also got a boost from Cozart, who played various roles. In 20 appearances, the North Carolina native posted a 1.59 ERA and recorded eight saves. The All-SEC First Team selection was nearly unhittable, holding opponents to a .112 batting average while striking out 66 batters.

While Volantis and Cozart impressed on the mound, Pack was a force at the plate. In his freshman season, Pack drove in 45 runs while posting a .360 batting average. He also made an impact on the bases with a team-high 20 stolen bases. Due to his play, Pack took home SEC Freshman of the Year honors.

When the festivities begin, the Longhorns trio will participate in three days of exhibition contests against Appalachian League teams, followed by a five-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series. The Collegiate National Team will be named on July 5 at the end of training camp.

If Pack, Volantis, or Cozart make the team, they will get to play in n the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan from July 11-15.
