Longhorns baseball secures commitment from RHP/OF Cooper Vais

Longhorns baseball has added another potential star to its 2027 class. On Monday, Texas secured a commitment from Cooper Vais. The talented RHP/OF is one of the top prospects in his class and has the ability to make an impact with both his arm and bat.

In Vais, the Longhorns are getting the top player from Colorado. He is also the first player from this Summer’s Future Games to commit to the Longhorns. The newest Longhorn boasts a fastball that tops out at 90 miles per hour, complemented by a breaking ball that keeps opponents off balance. That combination should make Vais a tough matchup in the SEC.

While Vais has made headlines on the mound, he is a dynamic talent at the plate. The Colorado native is an above-average base runner with the ability to drive the ball. He has primarily played shortstop but has also seen time in the outfield. Regardless of the position, Vais has been a human highlight reel.

When the Longhorns recruit arrives on Campus, he will be part of a talented 2027 class. The Longhorns have also secured commitments from LHP Mason Sims,  LHP Luke Armijo, RHP/ OF JJ Utash, RHP Becket Berg, OF Ira Rootman, and Catcher Lee Holt. That group should continue to grow with plenty of talent left on the board.

Although Longhorns fans will have to wait a few years for Vais to make his collegiate debut, the future is brighter with him in the mix. The Longhorns have added a player who has the potential to be one of the best at his position.
