Gregory-Portland head football coach and athletic director Brent Davis has been voted President-Elect of the Texas High School Coaches Association for the 2025-26 school year.
Davis has been the AD at Gregory-Portland since 2021 and has head coaching stints in South Texas including Banquete, Sinton and Alice. He currently leads all active coaches in wins in the Coastal Bend with a mark of 226-120-1 over 30 seasons.
Davis led Sinton to the state championship game in 2001. He has also coached at The Colony in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and San Angelo Central.
The veteran coach is from a coaching family including former Calallen head coach Bobby Davis, who built Wolfforth Frenship into a power in the Lubbock area, and brother Brad Davis.
Davis had been a finalist for the THSCA President-elect over the last several years. Crowley’s Carlos Lynn and Fort Bend Marshall’s James Williams and has led his teams to 10 district titles in his 30 seasons.
