Fox News host and conservative political commentator Jesse Watters has been announced as the headliner of a church event in El Paso.
Watters will speak at Cielo Vista Church as part of Turning Point USA’s Make Heaven Crowded Tour on Saturday, Aug. 26, according to a social media post by the church. Other speakers include John Amanchukwu, a preacher and activist, and Lucas Miles, a pastor and author, the post said.
“Christian. Culture shaker. Prime time voice. Jesse Watters brings bold, unfiltered commentary to FOX News every night as host of Jesse Watters Primetime and co-host of The Five. His newly lit fire for Christ is inspiring,” the post stated.
The event is free and promises a “powerful, gospel-centered evening filled with worship, encouragement, and impactful speakers.” Attendees will have to register online.
Who is Jesse Watters?
As the post mentions, Watters currently hosts “Jesse Watters Primetime” and co-host of “The Five” on the FOX News Channel. He made his on-camera debut at the network in 2003 as a correspondent for “The O’Reilly Factor.”
According to his Fox News biography, Watters is widely known for his “Mom Texts” segment, which showcases colorful messages that “his liberal mother has fired off to him while he’s on the air.” He’s also played a role in major political events, including coverage of the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump and the 2024 Republican National Convention, according to his biography.
Watters has faced criticism for several comments over the years. Most recently, in 2025, he privately apologized after suggesting the United Nations should be “bombed” or “gassed” following technical issues involving President Donald Trump’s escalator ride and teleprompter during a U.N. visit, according to Reuters.
In 2023, the White House called on Fox News to apologize after Watters made what it described as “unacceptable” and “sickening” remarks about Arab Americans and Muslims in the wake of the Hamas attack on Israel, according to The Guardian.
El Paso Times reached out to Cielo Vista Church for additional comment on Watters’ visit.
The organization behind the Make Heaven Crowded Tour
The Make Heaven Crowded Tour is organized by Turning Point USA Faith, according to its website. Other stops along the tour include Dallas and Austin and other cities across the United States. Speakers vary by event, with some including Erika Kirk, the wife of Charlie Kirk, who founded Turning Point USA.
Watters visit to El Paso is already drawing reaction
The announcement from Cielo Vista Church has prompted a range of reactions online, with some commenters welcoming the conservative commentator’s visit while others express criticism.
“I am very excited! TPUSA will be at our church, and Jesse Watters will be there as well. What a treat! This promises to be a truly memorable event. We are truly blessed,” one comment read.
“When I think of Jesse Watters and his messaging it’s never about love and compassion but contempt and condescension,” another person wrote.
