Texas Longhorns men’s basketball started the week with a recruiting win. On Monday, 2026 prospect Colben Landrew narrowed his list down to ten programs and included the Longhorns. The talented small forward is one of the best prospects in his class. Texas hopes to get Landrew to campus for a visit.
As the Longhorns look to add Landrew to their 2026 class, they will face competition. The other programs in his top ten are Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Louisville, Texas A&M, UConn, Purdue, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. For offenses in need of more scoring punch, Landrew has been a popular prospect.
Currently, Landrew is ranked as the 25th best small forward in his class by 247Sports. They also rank the Wheeler High School product as the sixth-best prospect from Georgia. Now that Landrew has narrowed his list down, he will start visiting the programs still in the mix. He already has filled up his calendar for the fall.
The 2026 recruit will start his tour of the country later this month when he takes a trip to Louisville on August 28th. After a few weeks’ rest, he will be back on the road on September 19th to visit Mississippi State and Georgia on September 26th. In October, he is set to visit Texas A&M, Alabama, and Auburn.
While Landrew has a busy travel schedule, there is still time for the Longhorns to get him to Forty Acres. That will give Sean Miller and his staff a chance to show Landrew what his future could hold in a Longhorns uniform. Over the past few months, Miller has been busy reshaping his roster through the transfer portal and international signings.
With no commitment date set, it could be months before Landrew makes his final decision. As he continues to narrow down his list, the Longhorns will be a team to keep an eye on.
