El Paso’s Fit Fam, which shares what’s buzzing in the Borderland, will not feature any BTS sightings or concert coverage, according to an Instagram story posted by the page.
Fit Fam posted on April 30 that at the request of El Paso’s BTS Army, it would not provide any BTS updates. The El Paso Times was also denied access to photos of Saturday’s concert.
“At the request of El Paso’s BTS Army, FitFam will no longer provide any BTS coverage, to include the Sun Bowl concerts,” the post said.
BTS will perform a pair of shows this weekend, on May 2-3, at Sun Bowl Stadium as part of their world tour ‘ARIRANG.’ About 40,000 BTS fans, known as Army, are gearing up for each night of the Korean pop group’s two concerts in El Paso.
The BTS El Paso World Tour Army reacted to Fit Fam’s decision not to cover the band’s whereabouts in El Paso on the group’s Facebook page, which has more than 10,000 followers.
“They are literally being followed to their hotel and restaurants. We want them to have a sense of privacy here,” one ARMY member wrote.
Another comment pointed out that celebrity life often brings paparazzi and eager fans along.BTS Army Sin Fronteras, a Facebook group with fans from El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, posted guidelines on how fans can respect the group, including not looking for their hotel, not following them on the streets, and not invading the band’s personal space.
