The FedEx Ship Center on Southridge Drive in Wichita Falls will close on Feb. 28, according to company spokesperson Sarah Rose Williams.
“All team members at this station were notified several months before any changes occurred and were offered job placement assistance including opportunities at nearby FedEx facilities in the area or relocation assistance,” she said.
Although asked how many employees were affected, Williams did not release that information. She also did not release requested information as to whether the company has or plans to file a Workforce Commission Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification.
She said FedEx would continue to operate in the Wichita Falls area, including a location at 3916 Kemp Blvd.
FedEx is consolidating portions of its network in a logistics plan called Network 2.0 and intends to operate 100 fewer stations and eliminate more than 10% of pickup and delivery routes, according to a statement by President and CEO Ray Subramaniam.
FedEx told the Texas Workforce Commission it is laying off 856 employees in Coppell, near Dallas, and will close its logistics facility there by April.
Workforce Commission Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications show other FedEx job cuts in North Texas announced in 2025 include 305 layoffs at a Fort Worth facility and 131 layoffs at facilities in Garland and Plano.
