The Abilene Reporter-News will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Monday, and several standouts were nominated for the most recent City National Bank Athlete of the Week award.

Our weekly Athlete of the Week polls will start Monday and close at 5 p.m. Friday. The winners will be announced afterward.

After nearly a week of voting, Eula girls track and field’s Reagan Barr was voted the ARN’s City National Bank Athlete of the Week for April 27-May 2 after garnering 3,501 votes, or 69.98% of the total votes cast.

Barr was nominated after she earned first-place finishes in both the long jump (16-9) and triple jump (36-10.25) at the Region II-1A UIL Regional Track and Field Meet in Abilene.

She also punched her ticket to the UIL State Meet in the 4×200-meter relay after earning a third-place finish for the Lady Pirates at the regional meet.
