The city of El Paso is adding two more community watch parties as the USA and Mexico national soccer teams enter the Round of 32 knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The free, family-friendly events will feature the soccer games on a large outdoor screen at Cleveland Square, outside the Mexican American Cultural Center, 201 E. Franklin Ave., in Downtown El Paso.
“The incredible turnout at our previous watch parties showed just how much El Paso loves soccer,” city Parks and Recreation Director Pablo Caballero said in a statement. “We’re excited to continue bringing the community together to celebrate the sport, cheer on their favorite teams, and enjoy another great evening in Downtown.”
Mexico vs. Ecuador
The first watch party of the week will start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, when Mexico takes on Ecuador at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
USA vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina
The second party will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, as the U.S. men’s national team faces Bosnia and Herzegovina at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The city previously hosted two outdoor World Cup watch parties at Cleveland Square that attracted an estimated 900 fans for Mexico’s 1-0 win over South Korea on June 18 and an estimated 500 people on an evening that began with a threat of a dust storm before it cleared up before the U.S. men’s national team lost to Turkiye 3-2 on June 25.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
The event is hosted by the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department and the Mexican American Cultural Center. The game licensing and Spanish-language broadcast are sponsored by Telemundo 48 El Paso
