The final week of the transfer portal is delivering its usual chaos, and one of Texas A&M’s biggest swing-for-the-fences targets is officially off the board. On Monday afternoon, former Oregon utility standout Naulivou Lauaki Jr. committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, ending the Aggies’ push to add one of the most explosive young bats available.
A&M was firmly in the final group, and while this isn’t a program-shaking loss, missing out on a double‑digit home run hitter with multi‑year eligibility always stings, especially when you had a legitimate shot. Lauaki posted a .321/.370/.687 slash line with 43 hits, 14 home runs, and 37 RBI, showcasing the kind of raw power that instantly elevates a lineup.
The good news for the Aggies. The portal remains open for a few more days, and the staff is far from finished. With a foundational trio already in place of Nico Partida, Jorian Wilson, and Boston Kellner, Texas A&M still has room to add meaningful pop and depth before the window closes. And with Nolan Cain back in the mix, the Aggies have a proven recruiter steering the final stretch, giving them a real edge as they look to land impact bats and arms to round out the 2027 roster.
