The rankings in the NFC East have been clear-cut so far. Dak Prescott was the highest-level quarterback by a good margin. Saquon Barkley was easily the top running back, and Dallas Goedert was easily the top tight end in the division. The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles have owned the rankings thus far, but the offensive line is a different story. The New York Giants could be on the rise, and the Washington Commanders have a few building blocks. The question is how long it will take for some lines to develop and how quickly others decline.
Philadelphia has owned the top spot here for years, but legendary offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland retired. Lane Johnson had his worst season in 2025 and is a year older. The Cowboys have a tremendous interior on the rise, and the New York Giants added top-10 pick Francis Maugnoa, along with veteran Jon Runyan to Andrew Thomas. Even the Washington Commanders have hope centered around Laremy Tunsil.
4: Washington Commanders
Considering how good he is and how important left tackle is, Laremy Tunsil has been on three teams. He was the best pass blocker in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), and he hasn’t fallen off much, if at all. He had an 88.9 pass blocker grade in 2025, allowing only two sacks in 490 pass blocking snaps.
Right guard Sam Cosmi had a solid season with PFF grades between 72 and 76, but everyone else was very poor, and they are all returning to their perches barring training camp usurptions. Right tackle Josh Conerly Jr. had a run grade over 63, but no other grades over 60. The center, Nick Allegretti, had no grade over 47, and left guard Chris Paul had a run blocking grade of 38.2. The unit has one great piece, but it was awful overall in 2025.
3: New York Giants
The Giants have an improving line with an excellent left tackle, a solid veteran left guard, and now a Top-10 pick for the right side. Andrew Thomas is an All-Pro-level LT with PFF grades between 84 and 90, giving up just a single sack in nearly 450 pass blocking snaps.
Francis Mauigoa was picked No. 10 in the draft and was thought of as the best offensive lineman in the 2026 class. He should solidify one spot on the right side, beginning at right guard. Jon Runyan is a declining veteran, but he played over 1,000 snaps in 2025 at an adequate level.
Most Cowboys fans will remember Mazi Smith having his way with center Johnny Michael Schmitz. He is a less powerful Tyler Biadasz and will continue to struggle against the incredible defensive tackles in the NFC East. Jermaine Eluemunor has the edge over Marcus Mbow as the starter at RT, but both will get a chance to battle in camp. Eluemunor is more than just serviceable, having played nearly 1,100 snaps last season and posted a pass block grade over 75. They don’t have the higher ceiling Dallas and Philadelphia have, but they are an improving line.
2: Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have a top-notch interior with All-Pro Tyler Smith, Tyler Booker coming off a fantastic rookie season, and Cooper Beebe going into Year 3. Beebe had only one penalty and allowed a single sack, but had no PFF grades over 70.
Booker played over 1,000 snaps as a rookie with a run block grade near 80, and Smith played over 1,100 snaps while injured at LG and LT. The Dallas issues are at offensive tackle. Tyler Guyton was often injured and not consistent when he played. He had four games in the mid-70s as a run blocker and five games under 55. The pass blocking range went from 77.6 at the top to 26.1 at the bottom. Terence Steele is a solid run blocker, but is a worse pass blocker than Guyton. If one of those two can be successful blocking one-on-one in pass protection, Dallas might have the best unit in the NFC East.
1: Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles had their worst performance as an offensive line in many years in 2025, with Johnson and Landon Dickerson played through injuries for most of the season. Cam Jurgens and Tyler Steen aren’t Jason Kelce or Mekhi Becton, and Jordan Mailata had a down season for his All-Pro standards.
Mailata went from grades of 95.8 overall, 94.9 run blocking, and 91.7 pass blocking to 83.4 overall, 79.9 run blocking, and 80.4 pass blocking. Even with that, Johnson is possibly the best RT in the NFL, and Dickerson is a plus LG. Mailata was still an excellent LT, and the center and RG are still as good or better than the Dallas offensive tackles. Philadelphia could end the season in third if things go badly, but they go into 2026 as the top unit.
