The Cowboys victory over the Giants came at a cost, as Dallas is expected to be without starting center Cooper Beebe for an estimated six-to-eight weeks with a high-ankle sprain. The injury occurred late in the overtime thriller, with Beebe seeing 73 of 89 offensive snaps in the contest before needing to be replaced in the starting lineup.
The injury makes him a likely candidate for injured-reserve and he would be able to return to the active roster after sitting out a minimum of four weeks. The announced window likely puts him in the framework of returning to the team after their Week 10 bye and getting back on the field for the eight-game home stretch. Backup center Brock Hoffman is expected to replace Beebe in the starting lineup.
After the game, Beebe was seen needing assistance getting to the locker room unable to put much pressure on his injured ankle.
It is suspected the injury occurred on the PAT after the George Pickens touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.
In the video from Dallas Morning News’ Joseph Hoyt, Beebe is the second-to-last lineman on the left. It appears as if Beebe is blocked back into tight end Luke Schoonmaker and their legs get tied up.
Moving forward, Dallas knows exactly the type of replacement they’re getting with Hoffman as he has started 9 times for Dallas over three seasons. He has played in every game over the last two seasons for the club.
His 66.3 overall PFF grade from 2024 shows a steady player whose run blocking was a little better than his pass protection. His intensity and attitude is the immeasurable portion of his game that should allow Dallas to overcome losing Beebe for the next few weeks.
