Target is opening dozens of new stores across 22 states, and seven of them will launch in October.
Six of those stores will top 125,000 square feet, Target’s average store size, as the retailer leans into a larger footprint, according to Chain Store Age. The retail trade publication states that Target plans to build more than 300 stores over the next decade.
In July, USA TODAY reported that the Minneapolis-based retailer has plans to open its new stores across 22 states, including six each in Florida and Texas.
“From the Big Apple to the California coast and in between, our stores are at the center of how we serve our guests,” according to Target’s website. “And that’s why we’re continuing to invest in new stores in neighborhoods across the country.”

How many stores does Target have in Ohio and Kentucky?
Target has 65 stores in Ohio, including six in Cincinnati and five in Columbus, according to its website.
In Kentucky, Target has 14 stores, including six in Louisville and three in Lexington.
