The Cavaliers return home to Rocket Arena and will attempt to climb out of an 0-2 deficit against the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference semifinals May 9.
On May 7, the Pistons took Game 2 by a score of 107-97. The Cavaliers went on a 6-0 run at the start of the fourth quarter to capture an 81-79 lead, but Pistons forward Tobias Harris (21 points, 7 rebounds) tied the score 81-81 with a jump shot and later extended Detroit’s lead to 86-83 with a shot in the paint. The Pistons never gave the lead back.
Pistons star point guard Cade Cunningham went perfect on eight free throws, finishing with 25 points and 10 assists.
Though Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell finished with 31 points, he made just 2-of-9 3-point shots. Fellow guard James Harden struggled mightily and shot 3-for-13 for 10 points.
