A portion of Interstate 35 between Ankeny and Ames will be closed for two nights to complete shoulder widening work.

When will Iowa DOT close I-35 overnight?
Northbound I-35 will be closed Sunday, May 10, and Monday, May 11, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.
The closure starts at Northeast 36th Street (Exit 94) in Ankeny and extends to will U.S. Highway 30 (Exit 111) on the south edge of Ames.
The northbound I-35 rest area between Elkhart and Huxley will be closed to the public beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 10. It will not reopen until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12.
