COMMITMENT: Texas lands four-star CB Montre Jackson

Texas Longhorns recruiting remains red hot. UT got another pledge on Saturday as four-star cornerback Montre Jackson committed to the Longhorns Jackson picked Texas over nearly 40 programs, including SMU and Ole Miss.

The  6-foot, 180 pound defender is ranked as the nation’s No. 27 CB and the No. 37 prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports. The Garland Lakeview prospect has legit track speed. Jackson has run wind-aided times of 10.39 in the 100 meters and 21.02 in the 200.

Jackson is the 10th player to commit to Texas in June. Eight of those players are five-star or four-star recruits.

Junior Tu’upo committed to UT Friday, Lucas Rhoa and Neimann Lawrence on Thursday and Tyler Alexander, Kyron Brown, Brian Swanson and John Meredith III in the days before that.

Texas has been at the forefront of Montre Jackson’s recruitment since January, when Jackson made the trip to Austin for Junior Day. Shortly after that Jackson named the Longhorns as one of his leaders in his recruitment.
