Texas has landed a big piece to its 2027 recruiting class. Literally. 6-foot-5, 315-pound four-star offensive tackle Brian Swanson commits to UT. The South Oak Cliff prospect chose Texas over Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M and SMU.
Swanson took several official visits this summer, but Texas always seemed like the leader and got to make the final impression after hosting the Dallas native over the weekend. Swanson has been a key piece of South Oak Cliff’s three straight runs to the Texas state finals.
Swanson is ranked as the No. 177 player in the nation, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He is the No. 17 OT. Swanson is the third offensive lineman in UT’s 2027 recruiting class, joining Kenyon Hemphill-Woods and Jackson Cook. Swanson is the highest ranked off the trio.
Texas jumps to No. 13 in the 247Sports composite team recruiting rankings, up from No. 17 in the nation. The Longhorns class is still pretty small compared to the teams above UT in the rankings with only 14 commits. But Sark likes to make a late push for elite talent.
