Casa Pantera, Amar, Ruth’s Chris lead El Paso’s top OpenTable bookings in 2025. See list

El Paso’s restaurant scene is more diverse than ever, meaning endless choices for diners.

Still, there are a handful of spots in the Sun City that are standing out in 2025, after OpenTable revealed its list of most booked restaurants. The online reservation service analyzed hundreds of thousands of reviews from the past month and sorted the results by location.

Here are the most highly rated restaurants in El Paso, according to OpenTable. Many of these made the list in 2024, but there are some newcomers.

Casa Pantera

The restaurant serves a 50-ounce tomahawk steak, filet mignon, and oysters in the heart of Five Points. Casa Pantera boasts a nearly perfect score on OpenTable, with diners praising its organic decor and excellent service. The Mexican chophouse also made last year’s list of most booked restaurants.

“Decadent and sumptuous food. Excellent service from the moment we entered. A gem of a restaurant in El Paso,” one review said.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ

Gyu-Kaku offers an authentic yakiniku (grilled barbecue) dining experience where customers share premium cooked meats over a flaming, smokeless grill.

There are over 800 Gyu-Kaku restaurants worldwide, and the El Paso location appears to have opened in April, according to its Instagram account.

“The food was delicious, service was attentive, and the atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely return,” one review said.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House – El Paso

The steakhouse, located at the Fountains at Farah, remains one of the most popular restaurants in El Paso, having made the list again this year.

Steaks are served with a drizzle of butter and a side of parsley — all on a 500-degree plate. There are many cuts, from its New York Strip to lamb chops and a porterhouse for two.

“We had our dinner date to celebrate our anniversary. The service was above and beyond! The food was delicious! Great atmosphere,” one review said.

Cafe Central

One of the most romantic spots in Downtown El Paso is back on OpenTable’s list this year.

Established in 1918, Cafe Central is renowned for its fine dining and elegant menu. It was also named to OpenTable’s Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in the U.S. in 2012, according to Cafe Central’s website.

Weso Steakhouse

Weso Steakhouse, located inside WestStar Tower, is once again one of the most booked restaurants in El Paso.

The menu includes several cuts of steak — and some surprises, like chicken cheese tacos and a towering dish of roasted cauliflower.

Anson 11

Many El Pasoans celebrate milestones at the Downtown restaurant, including birthdays and anniversaries, according to OpenTable reviews.

The restaurant features two dining areas — a casual bistro downstairs and a fine dining experience upstairs, complete with table-side preparations, fresh seafood, and prime steaks.

Anson 11 was also featured on OpenTable’s list of the most booked restaurants in 2024.

Amar

The Peruvian and Mexican kitchen is new on OpenTable’s list, with reviewers raving about the romantic atmosphere and delicious drinks. Menu items include ceviche, fish tacos and truffle pasta topped with Peruvian olives and sauce.

“What a great find!! The food, the presentation of the dishes, the service are all excellent,” one review said.

West Texas Chophouse – Airway

West Texas Chophouse has multiple locations in El Paso, but the one on Airway Boulevard has become a top spot to dine, according to OpenTable. Patrons praise the “great customer service” and the accommodating staff, which enhances celebrations like birthdays.

“We had celebrated my daughter’s birthday here. We were greeted with friendly smiles and were seated promptly,” one review said.

Sushi Itto

The Japanese fusion restaurant is located on the ground level of WestStar Tower and features a menu that includes a handful of unique rolls, such as the Jalapeno Hamachi Roll, which is made with avocado, serrano peppers, and Sriracha.

Sushi Itto was named as one of the most booked restaurants in 2024 by OpenTable.

“Great service and food. Highly recommend for any sushi lover,” one review said.

1700° Steakhouse

The steakhouse inside the Hotel Paso Del Norte is on the list once again, with a review describing the restaurant’s “world-class” service, making it a top choice in El Paso.

Some of its signature menu items include wagyu steak and a pork chop with rice, apricot and Chile.
