Sharon’s South, a long-standing Abilene barbecue joint at 2050 Antilley Road, is undergoing a major transformation as the restaurant has announced new plans to close and reopen as a new dining concept, Cahoots Seafood Bar & Grill.
Sharon’s South closed Monday, June 8 as the restaurant prepares to shift to a new Cajun and seafood-inspired menu, According to a recent statement released by Sharon’s.
“We are grateful for the support our customers have shown Sharon’s South over the years and are excited to bring something new and unique to the community,” said Sharon’s management in the media release.
An opening date for Cahoots Seafood Bar & Grill has not been announced.
Sharon’s South is the second location of Sharon’s barbecue, which opened in 2017, approximately 12 years after the original location at 849 U.S. Highway 80 E. opened in 2005.
The original Sharon’s barbecue is still slated to operate as normal and continue serving traditional Texas barbecue.
