As the U.S. prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, the U.S. Mint is unveiling commemorative coins that honor the nation’s history.
The coin set, complete with a certificate of authenticity, is available at 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, June 30 from the U.S. Mint. These five special sets will include gold coins reissued as “faithful representations” of the historic designs with the original dates of issue to acknowledge each coin’s place in history, according to a U.S. Mint news release.
“The designs on these historic coins depict the story of America’s journey toward a ‘more perfect union,’ and celebrate America’s defining ideals of liberty. We hope to offer each American the opportunity to hold our nation’s storied 250 years of history in the palms of their hands as we Connect America through Coins,” said U.S. Mint Deputy Director Kristie McNally in the news release.
Here’s what to know about the commemorative coins.

The 2026 uncirculated set comes as a pack of two cards, each with 10 uncirculated coins, one made at the the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia and one from the U.S. Mint in Denver. In addition to the semiquincentennial quarters, the sets also include:
How much will the 250 coins cost?
The set costs $124.50 and is available 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, June 30 on the U.S. Mint website.
How were the designs for the 250 coins chosen?
Last year, the U.S. Mint engaged Americans through a public input survey to vote for their favorite historic coins, and the five top-rated coins were reviewed and recommended by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) and U.S. Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) with final selections approved by the Secretary of the Treasury.
