Several meetings and events are happening this week; here are a few of them to note on your calendars.
AC Jazz Ensemble & Vocal Jazz concert this evening
Amarillo College invites the community to hear the AC Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz at a joint concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Concert Hall on the Washington Street campus. The performance will showcase the full spectrum of jazz talent at AC, both instrumental and vocal, and it is free and open to the public.
Directed by Nathan Fryml, AC professor of music, and Austin Brazille, AC instructor of music, the annual event is known for its energetic performances, enthusiastic audiences, and the rare chance to see both sides of AC’s jazz program shine in a single night. “This is always a great event with exciting performances and a lively crowd,” Fryml said. “It’s fun to see the vocal and instrumental sides of music life at AC represented on the same stage and in the same evening.”
The Vocal Jazz group will perform music by The Real Group, Pentatonix, and a selection of holiday favorites, while the Jazz Ensemble will bring its own set of vibrant, stylistically diverse pieces.
