Ashley Carpenter came into season 10 of “Love Is Blind” saying she has a habit of picking the wrong guy.
By the time the Ohio-based season reached its final stretch, the 34-year-old claims manager from Ashtabula leaned on that self-awareness as her engagement to Alex Henderson unraveled before the altar.
The couple did not end up married by the end of season, which may not have been a surprise to many as tension first began to rise during a couples pool party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where Henderson told Brittany Wicker that she was more his usual type and later confessed he typically dated women with darker features.
At the altar Carpenter said she didn’t choose Henderson and knew he felt the same way. She accused Henderson of lying to her and said she’s no longer the type of person to ignore red flags.
“Something always kind of felt off,” Carpenter said. “Your stories were so vivid. They were so detailed. You would say a lot of words, but somehow I just found myself more confused at the end of our conversations.”

Who is Ashley Carpenter?
Carpenter works as a claims quality manager for Progressive Insurance, a role she has held for a about a year. She has worked with the company for roughly four years, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Carpenter is from Ashtabula. She graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and is also a certified personal trainer.
On LinkedIn, Carpenter lists animal welfare, children and health as causes important to her. Carpenter also described herself as extremely close with her family and calls her dad her best friend.
During the family meeting in episode 7, her father questioned Henderson about topics including Bitcoin prices and his vote in the last presidential election.

On Instagram, Carpenter has a following of about 64,000. Her posts date back to 2014 and initially feature her husky, Zoe, before shifting to lifestyle and vacation photos in more recent years.
Her TikTok has fewer posts, however, one post with over 1 million views is from Feb. 17, where she addresses Henderson’s “usual type” comment using the viral sound, “You’re breaking up with me because I’m too blonde?”
