CAMBRIDGE – Guernsey County only had two write-in candidates file to run in the November 2025 general election, said Lori Bamfield, Guernsey County’s Board of Elections director.
Bryan Prater has filed to run for the mayor of Cumblerland. And Lori Parry will run for the full-term spot in the Ohio Valley Educational Service Center’s northern division. It’s an overlapping race among Guernsey, Washington, Monroe, Noble, Morgan, Muskingum and Perry counties.
Bamfield reminded voters the write-in candidates’ names will not appear on the ballot alongside those who previously filed, but there will be a space for voters to write them in if they wish to vote for them.
The deadline to register to vote in this year’s general election is Oct. 6. Early voting will begin Oct. 7, at the board of elections located at 627 Wheeling Ave. For more information, visit the board’s website.
