Vick's Gourmet Pizza has closed its doors in Reynoldsburg after 64 years in business

Vick’s Gourmet Pizza, so much a part of Reynoldsburg that its biggest pie was named after the local high school mascot, has closed after 64 years in business.

In an emotional two-page letter addressed “to my local Vick’s fans,” owner Charlotte Vickers shared reasons for the closing that included lingering road construction on Main Street, a delay in COVID relief money from the federal government and post-COVID staffing struggles.

In addition, Vickers’ husband, Doug, died March 26 after a lengthy illness.

“During this stressful time, money was needed to maintain the business, and loans were taken on,” Charlotte Vickers wrote. “I did what I had to do for all of us. Unfortunately, the loans became too much to handle and … I couldn’t see a way forward.”

Vick’s closed Sept. 6.

The business at 7345 E. Main St. in Reynoldsburg is listed for sale by Hanna Commercial Real Estate Services.
