Hudson resident Karen Schreckengost is joining the board of Tuesday Musical effective July 1 after being elected as an at-large member during the arts organization’s annual meeting on June 2 at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens.
Elected to serve as board officers were President Teresa Good of Silver Lake, Vice President/President Elect Michele Monigold of Canton, Treasurer/Finance Committee Chair Hannah Fisher of Canton, Secretary Sally Childs of Akron, and Governance Committee Chair Bryan Meek of Cuyahoga Falls.
Schreckengost is from Salisbury, Maryland, and after eight corporate relocations moved in 1996 to Hudson, where she resides with her husband, Fred, of 51 years. She has been a community volunteer in many states during the past 51 years. Since coming to Hudson, she has been involved in the Hudson City Schools’ music program as well as office support, the Summit County Humane Society and St. Mary Church. She has also been an active volunteer with the Akron Symphony for 15 years in multiple roles, including as a board member and gala chair. For the past 5 years she has volunteered at Firestone Country Club for the Senior Golf Championship and continues to usher at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall in Akron where Tuesday Musical presents concerts.
Additional Tuesday Musical board members are Louise Harvey of Seville; Marianne Miller of Massillon; Paul Mucha of Stow; Landon Nyako of Barberton; Bath residents Claire Purdy, Jeff Stenroos and Jennifer Stenroos; Marc Weagraff of North Royalton; Jamie Wilding of Hudson; and Akron residents Theron Brown, Justin Chenault, Bobbie Eaton, Diane Klein, George Pope, and Fred Specht.
