Three routes, zero good options: Roadwork makes downtown Akron traffic a mess | Letter

I live in Mogadore, and I work in Akron. Each morning, I get to choose my route to get to work. I have I-76 through the central interchange, which features one lane westbound, or East Market Street, which offers one lane also. Actually, East Market has two lanes, however one of them is for bicycles only, and the next bike I see on this road will be the first. East Market offers equally slow traffic due to multiple traffic lights, school buses, etc.

Last but certainly not least, we have East Exchange Street. This road, also one lane through the university area, has been ripped to shreds for at least a year.

So, from what I can see, there are three lanes of traffic available on the three main routes into the city that everyone from the east can choose from. I know roadwork is important, but can’t we tackle these one at a time? And don’t even ask me about getting home at day’s end. Why is this all going on at once? Does anybody even notice the absurdity of this?
