Rumfield’s strikeout, which came on a swing-and-miss against a 99.9 mph fastball, marked 72 1/3 innings pitched for Burns, who made his 14th career start in the game.

Burns then started to make his assault on his next 100 strikeouts. Through four innings, he has eight strikeouts against the Rockies and led, 4-1.
