PORT CLINTON — Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County announced that applications are being accepted for its 2026 Playhouse Project, which will provide six custom children’s playhouses to local families free of charge.
The playhouses are made possible through local sponsors including USG, Vistra, Weichert Realtors-Morgan Realty Group, Port Clinton Eagles Club, Walmart and Materion.
Sponsors to build playhouse based on child’s interests
Each sponsor team will build and decorate a playhouse based on the selected child’s interests, favorite colors, hobbies and themes. No two playhouses will be alike.
“These playhouses are more than just a fun structure,” said Valerie Winterfield, community engagement director for Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County. “They give children a special space of their own to imagine, play and create memories. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors for making this possible for local families.”

Families selected for a playhouse will be chosen through a random drawing of eligible applications.Applications ask families to share information about their children, including ages, interests, favorite characters, favorite colors and hobbies.
Applications are available online and at the Habitat ReStore at 1600 E. Perry St. in Port Clinton. All applications must be submitted by the end of July.
