About the Series: Shelby’s Wrestling Corner discusses wrestlers in AEW and WWE who made an impact over the last week. Whether it be a cool move that made the crowd gasp or a promo that stuck with fans days later, this is a place to celebrate professional wrestling. This week, we will be looking at performances from May 15 to May 20.
Let me take you back to 2024, when young Shelby was 14 years old and watching wrestling on an old box TV at my grandparents’ house. She watched live as Seth Rollins swung a chair, hitting his partner, breaking up The Shield.
For many, that is the day they started to boo Rollins in his journey before eventually cheering for him years later, but not me. From that first chair shot, I was obsessed with Rollins and his character development. No longer was he a member of a group; he was his own star, paving his way to multiple world title wins.

Each feud, each title win, each moment throughout his career has told a story. He speaks not only through his promos but also through his actions and gear choices.
Which is why I am naming Seth Rollins the Wrestler of the Week.
Rollins has been telling a story with The Vision that I have loved. He started another group, one where he was in charge, and they turned on him, just like he did to The Shield all those years ago. Now, however, he is working on getting his revenge.
He and Bron Breakker continue to feud, and I’m sure that eventual final match will be great, but I am loving the subtle storytelling between Rollins and Austin Theory that took place this week. The pair wore similar gear, perhaps a nod to their former group when Rollins went by the Messiah, and even Corey Graves noted it. Rollins has also been toned down in his promo clothes, making him seem more serious and focused on taking down his enemies.
