CHILLICOTHE — As fireworks blast off for the Fourth of July, the heat of the explosion will not be the only warm part of the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, Ross County has been placed under a heat advisory from June 29 to July 2.
The NWS recommends those in the affected areas to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and take extra precautions when outside.
Here is the forecast for the week:
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. At night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 75.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 94 and a heat index as high as 103. At night, mostly clear skies with a low around 74.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 96. At night, clear skies and a low around 75.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 97 and at night, skies will be mostly clear, with a low around 77.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 96. At night, there is a chance of showers after 2 a.m., with partly cloudy skies and a low around 76. The chance of precipitation is 30%.
Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, with partly cloudy skies. There will be a high near 94, and the chance of precipitation is 30%. At night, a chance of showers and thunderstorms and a low around 73.
