ALLIANCE ‒ As temperatures rise this summer, Alliance has opened three cooling stations where residents can escape the heat.
Mayor Andy Grove listed the locations in an emailed news release:
The library location will not be available July 3-4 because of the Independence Day holiday.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Stark County from June 30 through July 3, with highs in the 90s and no rain. The July 4 forecast calls for 90-degree temperatures with a chance of rain. Officials say the heat index will rise well into the 100s during the high temperatures.
Grove said the city’s cooling stations will be available all summer.
