The report has been updated with corrected information from the Cincinnati Police Department.
People tried to bring Nerf guns into an Oakley movie theater on May 3 and not rifles as Cincinnati police initially said on May 5.
In a May 5 post on X, police posted pictures of people from surveillance footage in connection with the incident at the Cinemark location on Disney Street, stating “Several suspects involved were armed with rifles and made an attempt to enter the theater.” Police did not reveal any further details when asked what led to the incident.
A day later a police spokesman said that the people were carrying Nerf guns and that no charges would be filed.
Police did not immediately respond to a request for additional information on the incident.
