A Waynesburg man died in a three-vehicle crash in Carroll County, according to a release from the New Philadelphia Highway Patrol Post.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:56 p.m. June 24, on State Route 43, near milepost 25, in Brown Township.
A Volkswagen Golf driven by Ronald R. Romano III, 31, of Malvern, attempted to pass a Ram 1500, which was in front of him, and struck a Subaru Outback head-on, the release stated.
The Outback was operated by Lee D. Meadows, 70, was pronounced deceased as the scene by the Carroll County Coroner’s Office. His passenger, Emily Meadows, 39, of Malvern, was transported to Aultman Hospital.
The driver of the Ram 1500, Cole Kneeper, 34, of Malvern, sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene by EMS.
Romano was ejected from his vehicle and transported to Mercy Hospital by Quad Ambulance.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Great Trail Fire Department, Brown Township Fire Department, Quad Ambulance Service, EMT Ambulance Service, Carroll County Coroner’s Office, Ohio Department of Transportation and Keith’s and Rocky’s towing assisted on the scene.
