A man faces a murder charged in the death of a 60-year-old Columbus man, police said.
Officers responded at 5:17 p.m. June 24 to a home in the 1600 block of Old Leonard Avenue, on the city’s Near East Side, where they found Jeffrey C. Elder, 60, lying in the back room of the building with head trauma, according to a Columbus police news release.
Medics pronounced Elder dead at the home at 5:36 p.m.
Police arrested Elliot Lamont Robinson, 46. He was charged with one count of murder and booked into the Franklin County Jail.
Police said Robinson and Elder had an argument earlier in the day.
Columbus police are asking anyone with information about Elder’s death to contact the Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or provide an anonymous tip to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
