CANTON ‒ A 42-year-old man from Georgia will spend 15 to 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to repeatedly raping a girl in Louisville.
Stark County Common Pleas Judge Natalie R. Haupt sentenced Anthony Savko on June 17 on two counts of rape and one count each of gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
The crimes occurred between Sept. 16, 2014, and Sept. 15, 2024.
Charges arose after the victim and her mother reported the abuse in May 2025, the Stark County Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release. The defendant lived in Georgia at the time the allegations were reported.
“During the investigation, a courtesy interview was conducted by law enforcement in Georgia, during which the defendant admitted to sexually abusing the victim,” the prosecutor’s office said.
“During the investigation, the defendant admitted to raping the victim on numerous occasions, stating that the sexual conduct began when the victim was approximately 13 years old. The victim reported that the defendant’s inappropriate contact began when she was as young as 6 years old and continued for several years.”
A message was left for Savko’s public defender, Anthony Wise, offering him the opportunity to comment on his case on the afternoon of June 24. He did not respond. The Stark County Public Defender’s office does not generally comment on clients’ cases outside court.
Court records list Savko’s last known address as being in Eastanollee, Georgia.
Upon his release from prison, he will will spend five years on probation and be required to register his address with the local sheriff every day for the rest of his life.
